Foreside Community Church has a vibrant Ministry of Music program which includes a Chancel Choir, the Towne Lyne Ringers, and the Bells of Casco Bay.
The Chancel Choir sings 3 to 4 Sundays each month, September through mid-June. Singers of all experience levels are welcome to join in. The repertoire includes traditional, spiritual, and gospel anthems. They also offer either a Christmas or Lenten Cantata each year. They have sung “Seven Last Words of Christ” by Dubois, “Requiem” by Faure and “Ceremony of Carols” by Britten. Rehearsals are usually on Tuesday evenings from 6:15 – 7:15 PM.
The Towne Lyne Ringers is the hand bell choir of the church. They have been ringing for over 20 years and have performed at State and New England Festivals. They usually ring on the third Sunday of the month.
We also host The Bells of Casco Bay, a beginner community bell group. Ringers of little to no experience with bells or even reading music are welcome to join and learn. We occasionally welcome members of the Bells of Casco Bay to share with us in worship.
Sunday school children sing sometimes join us in singing. They have the chance to learn new songs in their usual time after the Time for All Ages.
