This position reports to the Pastor and works closely with ministry leaders, members of the congregation, and the public, including organizations and groups that use the church\u2019s facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To apply, please submit a letter of interest, current resume or C.V., and a small portfolio of media and communications work (graphics and text, print and web) to <a href=\"mailto:jobs@foresidechurch.org\">jobs@foresidechurch.org<\/a>. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Key Responsibilities:<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Help tell the story of our church\u2019s ministry and mission both within our congregation and in the wider world:<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Create and implement a communications calendar to share upcoming and past events through social media and other channels, reaching existing and new audiences.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design, edit, and publish the worship bulletin for each Sunday in collaboration with worship staff and pastor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compile and distribute announcements, event invitations, and schedules to various audiences in the church through weekly and monthly communications and newsletters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain the church\u2019s website (WordPress) and online calendar with up-to-date content.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In partnership with volunteers, collect photographs, testimonies, and other content to create rich narratives of the congregation\u2019s impact and character.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Help make our building a resource for ministry and community for our church groups and others:<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Keep and maintain a calendar of all functions making use of the church building and equipment.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Serve as contact person for current tenants and for individuals or organizations wishing to use the building or equipment of the church.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Screen and coordinate all requests for use of rental space in the building according to policies, schedule of fees, building availability, and suitability of use.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Distribute, collect, and record rental agreements, fees, and certificates of insurance and other essential documents for renters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitate the identification of\u00a0required maintenance, repair, or upgrades of facilities, and act as the liaison between cleaning \/ maintenance contractors and the\u00a0Ministry of Building &amp; Grounds.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Order and maintain inventory for necessary cleaning \/ building supplies.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Help our church office be a welcoming hub of information, service, and supplies to support our ministries:<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be a welcoming, respectful, and helpful presence to all in office visits, phone calls, and email inquiries, responding to and transferring contacts appropriately.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compile, distribute, and archive files, agendas, minutes, and reports of the congregation, its Governing Board, and ministries according to church policies and procedures.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain church membership records, mailing lists, and database.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Purchase and maintain supplies needed for the church office and ministries of the church and related gatherings and events.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Desired Qualifications<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to shape content and voice for different audiences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proficiency with necessary computer software and platforms:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>basic graphic design and layout (Canva, InDesign, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>WordPress website editing and updating<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Microsoft Office suite<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Email newsletters\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Comfort with creating content for social media platforms in an organizational voice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Comfort working respectfully within a diverse, welcoming faith community<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Time Commitment:<\/strong> approximately 20-25 hrs\/week, with mutually agreed upon office hours, the option of remote work, and occasional flexibility to support events.<br><strong>Compensation:<\/strong> $24\/ hr<br><strong>Benefits:<\/strong> PTO accrual per Employee Handbook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><em>Foreside Community Church (FCC) is an open and affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ.
